We are privileged to live along the stunning West Wales coastline where some of the most beautiful beaches in the UK can be found. Mwnt, Gwbert, Penbryn, Aberporth, Tresaith, Newquay, Poppit, Llangrannog.

As Newcastle Emlyn sits in the two counties of Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire and is a stone’s throw away from Pembrokeshire there is no shortage of things to do.

Walking

Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire offer walks for any fitness level. Whether you want a peaceful, idyllic river side stroll or a fast paced mountain trek you won’t be short of options.

Fishing

Fishing enthusiasts can enjoy a variety of fishing experiences from coarse fishing. Llanelli in Carmarthenshire, Newquay in Ceredigion and Narberth in Pembrokeshire, sea fishing or river fishing. We can also put you in touch with local fishing guide Harry who will happily impart his wisdom.

For those interested in making magical memories there are various dolphin and wildlife spotting boat trips. Fully guided marine tours around Cardigan Bay are available from A Bay To Remember. There are new quay boat trips, dolphin survey trips and boat chartering.

Culture

For those looking for culture there are libraries, museums and arts centres at convenient locations around Ceredigion, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. The Ceredigion Museum in Aberystwyth is housed in a restored Edwardian theatre and has been described as ‘one of the most beautiful museum interiors in Britain.’ The National Woollen Museum is based just 5 minutes away from the hotel. Caws Cenarth shows you the cheese making process and the National Coracle Centre will show you how people did and still do cross the Teifi river.

There are mysterious gold mines and romantic castle ruins. The Museum of Childhood, which is in neighbouring Saron offers you a trip down memory lane. Art centres are located in Aberystwyth and Cardigan and there are plenty of small, independent galleries in the area

Railways

The Vale of Rheidol Railway, the Teifi Valley Railway and the Gwili Railway provide fun for all the family.

Carmarthenshire, known as the garden of Wales, is home to the beautiful and tranquil National Botanic Gardens of Wales, the Aberglasney Gardens and Norwood gardens.

Extreme Sports

If you enjoy excitement and adventure there are various white water rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, coasteering, paintballing, quad biking, dry slope skiing and Karting opportunities along the coast and in the rugged countryside.

Cinema, Theatre and Adventure

Cardigan’s Theatre Mwldan is an independent two screen cinema that offers current releases and foreign cinema. The Attic Theatre in Newcastle Emlyn and Theatre Mwldan in Cardigan often have performances from Shakespeare to Swan Lake.

Carmarthen cinema, based in the new development, is a multiplex offering all the current releases and state of the art 3D technology.

Cardigan offers an indoor soft play centre in the form of Teifi Mania perfect for those rainy days. The Wildlife Centre in Cilgerran combines education with fun. A little further afield in neighbouring Pembrokeshire there’s Folly Farm and Manor House Park for toddlers to teens offering outdoor and indoor play areas and plenty of animals.

Oakwood and Blue Lagoon, also in Pembrokeshire, offer fun for all the family. If adventure is what you seek then Oakwood is the place to go-it has rollercoaster’s galore.

Blue lagoon is an indoor and outdoor swimming pool with calming rapids for the adults and crazy water slides for the kids.

 

 

A very easy to find hotel with plenty of secure parking space. Excellent service from the moment you walk through the door to when you are leaving. All staff were helpful and keen to help in whatever way they could even aspects not really associated with the hotel.
