Newcastle Emlyn started as small dwellings centred around the castle which was built by Meredith ap Rhys Gryg in 1240 but rebuilt again later. The ruins overlook the river on 3 sides after it was blown up by Oliver Cromwell during the English Civil War.
Newcastle Emlyn is in the Teifi valley which is very popular for Salmon and Sewin (migratory trout) fishing, and is in a very central location between the Market Towns of Carmarthen, Cardigan and Lampeter. read more
Things to do
We are privileged to live along the stunning West Wales coastline where some of the most beautiful beaches in the UK can be found-Mwnt, Gwbert, Penbryn, Aberporth, Tresaith, Newquay, Poppit, Llangrannog.
As Newcastle Emlyn sits in the two counties of Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire and is a stone’s throw away from Pembrokeshire there is no shortage of things to do.
A very easy to find hotel with plenty of secure parking space. Excellent service from the moment you walk through the door to when you are leaving. All staff were helpful and keen to help in whatever way they could even aspects not really associated with the hotel.
